Astrophotography

Astrophotography is a very rewarding hobby. Managing to fit the light of a trillion stars, which traveled 2.5 million years to reach Earth, into a single image, I think, can only be described as impressive.

The Andromeda galaxy, host to one trillion stars!

Astrophotography was my main motivation for getting involved with photography in general. In 1996, I wanted to photograph the exceptional comet Hale-Bopp, one of the most impressive cosmic visitors for decades.

The years passed. From time to time, I took interesting photos of the starry sky. But I never got the telescope I wanted as a teenager. Until after a broken ankle, 1-2 unfulfilled desires from that time surfaced. I don't know why. And so, with about 30 years of delay, I found myself with a fairly capable telescope. And I managed to take the photo of the Andromeda galaxy that you see above. A 30-year-old pending task was settled.
